2017 Chevrolet Equinox Review

Chevrolet Equinox has been a dominant force in the crossover SUV market having sold over a million units since 2010. To maintain the grip on the market; a new 2017 Chevrolet Equinox is in production and set for release soon. It will be built on the D2XX platform and be greatly improved to offer optimum performance, handling and comfort. Since the last version came out in 2009; General Motors are set to overhaul most parts of this car. This medium-sized crossover SUV will be lighter and smaller for better fuel efficiency and low-carbon emissions. 4 trims will be offered: L, LS, LT and LTZ. Most of the specifications for this car are yet to be officially released but this is what is known currently.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox – Fresh New Look:

The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox will be more elegant than its predecessor, the front will have an aggressive looking double port grille that reflects light making it shiny. The lower trims will have normal light beam headlights with the higher trims LT and LTZ having adaptive LED headlights and daytime driving lights. Below the front bumper there will be a set of fog lights with a revamped stylish look that enhances the general design of this crossover. The sides will have lines running from door to door and the rear will have double element tail lights and twin chrome exhaust pipes. All the trims will have 17 inch alloy wheels except the LTZ trim that will have larger 18 inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox will have a redesigned cabin that offers more leg and head room to its 5 passengers. The seats have high quality leather upholstery with head restraints added for more comfort. There is also high quality fabric upholstery used in the cabin that increases the luxury and comfort in the cabin. All variants will come with 4G LTE connectivity and an inbuilt Wi-Fi hotspot with tablet holders placed on the back of the two front seats. The dashboard will have a double stitched leather finish and will have a seven-inch display that runs on Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system. Other features include: satellite navigation, dual zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth for hands free calls and an 8 speaker Dolby sound system. Security features in the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox include: enhanced airbags, cruise control, traction control and parking assistance.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox – Main Power Production:

Under the hood the Chevrolet Equinox will have two engine options. The base engine for the lower trims is a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder drive-train that outputs 182 horsepower and 172 pound feet of torque. Fuel efficiency is expected to be 22/32 mpg for city/highway. The two higher trims will have a new powerful engine which is a 3.6 liter V6 unit with an output of 301 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque. This will be mated with an 8 speed automatic transmission gearbox with an option of an all wheel or rear wheel drive. Fuel efficiency for this V6 engine will be an average of 18 mpg for city and highway.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox – Expected Arrival and Price:

This crossover SUV is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2016 and pricing information is yet to be released, it is however estimated to fall between a range of $24,000 and $37,000. Competition for the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox will come from Hyundai Tucson, Subaru Forester and Ford Escape.
