Volkswagen has launched their plans of releasing the seventh generation of Golf R. The car is going to enter the auto world as 2017 VW Golf R and will present elegant visual updates and high-performance features. It will be released alongside Golf GTI and e-golf models. The steering wheel appears sportier adopting 3-spoke styling with R-logo embedded on the speedometer. Other standard features include navigation control, climate control, and premium sound system with HD satellite radio, USB port interface, Bluetooth smartphone and audio integration. The automaker has also provided a perfect mix of driver assistance and safety features, including parking assist, automatic braking system, and line departure warning system. Others include premium safety belts and air bags.

2017 VW Golf R – Performance of Engine:

Under the hood, the upcoming generation of 2017 VW Golf R will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powertrain comes with redesigned cylinder heads and is capable of yielding up to 292 hp at around 280 ft-lb of torque. It will be mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission which will send power to a four-wheel drive system (AWD). The automatic transmission is optional.

In terms of acceleration, the 2017 VW Golf R is capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph per hour in just 5.3 seconds. Fuel economy figures stand at 22 mpg for city drives and 31 mpg on highways. This translates to a combined EPA of about 26 miles per gallon.
